National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has cautioned party members against making public statements that undermine the party and government, warning that such actions provide ammunition for political opponents.
Speaking during the party’s Thank You Tour in the Central Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as “General Mosquito,” urged members to remain loyal, disciplined, and focused on strengthening the party’s image and governance agenda.
According to him, party supporters and communicators must avoid publicly criticising the party and government in ways that could weaken public confidence and empower opposition groups.
“When you go out and be saying bad things about the party and the government, you are arming our opponents to bring down the government,” he stated.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia emphasised that internal concerns and grievances should be channelled through appropriate party structures rather than being aired publicly in a manner that could damage the party’s reputation.
He further encouraged members to intensify their efforts in promoting government policies, defending the party’s achievements, and maintaining unity within the rank and file.
The NDC Chairman stressed that sustaining political power requires discipline, loyalty, and collective responsibility among party faithful, adding that the party’s success depends largely on how members project and defend its programmes and leadership.
The Thank You Tour forms part of the party leadership’s nationwide engagement with grassroots supporters, aimed at appreciating their contributions and strengthening internal cohesion ahead of future political activities.
