The Zongo Chief of Ashalaja, Sarki Alhaji Yusif Atahir has on June 18, 2022 organized a football gala among four communities in the Ga … Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The gala was aimed at promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among the communities in the Municipality.
The community are Obakwua, Asabaham, Ashalaja and Busua fise.
In his address, the Ashalaja Zongo Chief who doubles as the development Chief of Amanfrom urged the players to foster unity among themselves and be ambassadors of unity and development in their various communities.
He called on the youth to see themselves as one people and tolerate the views of each other. This he said will help them to achieve their goals as footballers.
He revealed that, the winner of the birthday football gala will go home with ¢1,500 and will represent NADIF Oil in a Petroleum Companies football competition to be held at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra.
The second place will take away ¢1000 with medals and other prizes.
Other winners including, Best Player, Best Goalkeeper and Best Referee also made away with Golden boot, trophy, referee wallet and jerseys for all the participated teams.
On his part, the Assembly man of Ashalaja electoral area, Avornyo Wisdom Ahmed advised the youth to respect the elders in their Communities.
