Manchester City forward, Antoine Semenyo, has written his name into English Premier League history after becoming the first Ghanaian player to score 13 goals in a single season.
The Black Stars forward reached the landmark on Wednesday night after scoring for Manchester City in their 3-0 triumph against Fulham.
Semenyo has now broken a record that has long been held by ex-Ghanaian international Tony Yeboah.
That previous record of 12 goals was achieved by Tony Yeboah during his memorable spells with Leeds United in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons and later matched by André Ayew at Swansea City in the 2015/16 campaign.
Semenyo had already come close to history in the 2024/25 season with 11 goals, but this time he went beyond all previous achievements to stand alone at the top.
Since he joined Bournemouth in the English Premier League from the Championship , Semenyo has established himself as one of the top performers in the top division.
He only signed for Manchester City in the winter transfer window but is proving to be a key man for Pep Guardiola’s side in their charge for the English Premier League title.
Ghanaians have tipped the former Bournemouth man to lead the attack for Ghana at the World Cup.
