John Peter Amewu, the former Minister for Railways Development, was released after being arrested by National Security operatives. His arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into the failed $2 million Sky Train Project.
The project, which was meant to improve transportation infrastructure, did not meet its intended goals, as confirmed by Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine during a recent press briefing on March 24, 2025.
Dr. Ayine also announced that legal actions related to the Sky Train scandal would begin by mid-April 2025.
He reassured the public that those involved in the project are fully cooperating with investigators, and efforts are underway to recover any misappropriated public funds.
While Amewu was questioned in connection with the investigation, he has since been released, and the investigation continues.
