Asante Kotoko forward, Albert Amoah, has described a potential call-up to the Black Stars as a dream come true.
Amoah believes every actively playing Ghanaian footballer deserves to play for the Black Stars, and for him that will be a moment of joy if he gets the opportunity to be part of the team.
“Every player will be happy to be part of the Black Stars. So I think I’m a Ghanaian, so if I will be part of the Black Stars team, I think I will be very happy. Well, I’m also a player, I think. So far as I’m a Ghanaian and I’m playing, everyone deserves his chance,” he told Akoma Fm.
The former Accra Great Olympics forward mentioned that he is ready to live up to expectations when the time is due to be included in the Black Stars.
“If it comes to that I should go and play, I will be ready to take up the task,” he added.
Amoah, who joined Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi earlier this season, has made a return to Asante Kotoko after three months in Libya, contributing to four goals in five games already for the Porcupine Warriors.
Ampa has demonstrated he remains a capable and proven striker as he aims to continue with his fine form for Kotoko as the season continues and possibly earn a spot in the Black Stars.
With Hearts of Oak’s goalie Benjamin Asare being the only local player in the Black Stars, it remains unknown how many local players will be included in the squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
However, reports say the Libya side is preparing to terminate his contract and has tabled a compensation of around $30,000, equivalent to three months of his salary, as part of a potential separation agreement.
