The youth of Akatsi South are eagerly anticipating this year’s Avenor Tutu Do Festival, a deeply cherished annual celebration of the Avenor people. The festival, which was officially launched earlier this year in Wlitey, will climax on Saturday, 29th November 2025, but activities leading to the grand day have already begun in full force.

Adding to the cultural buildup, schools across Akatsi South, the Central planning committee of the festival in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, schools also observed the Avenor Youth Culture Day, a colourful and energetic celebration where pupils showcased traditional attire, cultural dances, poetry, storytelling, and dramatic displays. The event received widespread praise for nurturing cultural pride and strengthening identity among the younger generation.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, marks the highly anticipated Datsutagba Pilgrimage, one of the most spiritually significant rituals of the festival. The pilgrimage brings together youth and elders in a moving act of unity and ancestral reverence that forms the spiritual backbone of the Avenor tradition.
