The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South, Hon. Daniel Dagba, has undertaken a final inspection tour of an ultramodern six-unit classroom block under construction at Avadzre, describing the project as a major boost to educational infrastructure in the municipality.

According to a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Hon. Dagba led a delegation of officers from the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly, accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, to assess progress on the facility being constructed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The project comprises six fully furnished classrooms, auxiliary facilities, an ultramodern KVIP facility, and a mechanized borehole equipped with reverse osmosis machines to provide safe drinking water.

Hon. Dagba noted that the intervention is expected to significantly improve teaching and learning conditions in the area while enhancing access to quality educational infrastructure. He disclosed that the facility is scheduled to be commissioned on Friday, February 6, 2026.

The MCE expressed profound appreciation to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for its commitment to supporting education and community development in the municipality, stressing that such partnerships remain crucial to accelerating local development.

As part of the working tour, Hon. Dagba also visited the Gornikorpe Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound, where he engaged health personnel to ascertain operational challenges facing the facility.

He revealed that a major concern raised during the engagement was persistent water supply challenges affecting service delivery at the health centre. In response, the MCE directed municipal engineers to urgently facilitate the provision of a mechanized borehole to ensure reliable access to potable water for both staff and patients.

Hon. Dagba reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and social infrastructure across the municipality, emphasising that access to safe water remains a key priority in strengthening primary healthcare services.
