The Member of Parliament for Akatsi North, Hon Peter Nortsu Kotoe, in collaboration with other constituency executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress in Akatsi North, has donated construction materials to support ongoing community-led development projects within the constituency.
According to a post by Revival 99.3 FM, the support included 400 bags of cement and one ton of iron rods, aimed at assisting communities and religious institutions undertaking self-help projects to complete their structures.
Beneficiaries of the donation are the Church of Pentecost at Ave-Dakpa, the Foundation of Christ Church at Xevi, the Metrikasa Community, and the Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P.) Church at Ave-Dzelede.
The initiative forms part of efforts to encourage grassroots development through partnerships between community members and political leadership. The MP and accompanying dignitaries, including the District Chief Executive of the Area, Hon. Bless Kodjo Kataman,i commended the beneficiary communities for taking responsibility for their own development and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting such initiatives when the need arises.
Leaders of the beneficiary institutions expressed appreciation for the support, describing the donation as timely and critical to the completion of their projects.
The donation highlights the growing emphasis on community-first development in Akatsi North, where self-help initiatives are being complemented by targeted support from leadership to promote sustainable local development.
