Ahiafor donates GHc300K to Akatsi South NDC, GHc100K to Avenor Traditional Council

The First Deputy Speaker and MP for Akatsi South, Bernard Ahiafor, has donated GHS300,000 to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Branch Executives in his constituency and an additional GHS100,000 to the Avenor Traditional Council as part of activities marking the Christmas season.

The donation to the Branch Executives was made during a meeting held at the Akatsi Senior High Technical School Dining Hall, attended by party executives and delegates from across the constituency.

Mr Ahiafor expressed his appreciation to the Branch Executives for their dedication and support during the 2024 general elections, describing their efforts as critical to the party’s success in the 2024 elections.

He appealed to party members to maintain unity and discipline, emphasising that strong internal cohesion is necessary to sustain electoral victories and effectively pursue development initiatives.

The First Deputy Speaker noted that Akatsi South is positioned for accelerated development, citing a number of projects he had initiated to improve infrastructure and social services in the area.

He said his representation had also resulted in employment opportunities for several indigenes of the constituency, adding that supporting constituents to secure jobs remained a key focus of his parliamentary work.

According to him, ongoing engagements with state institutions and government agencies were expected to create more job opportunities for qualified youth from Akatsi South in the coming years.

As part of his Christmas engagements, Mr Ahiafor later met with chiefs and elders of the Avenor Traditional Council at the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly Hall, where he presented a cash donation of GHS100,000 to the council.

Addressing the chiefs, he called for unity and cooperation among traditional authorities, stressing that collaboration is essential to achieving meaningful development.

He assured the council of his continued commitment to bringing development to the doorsteps of the people of Akatsi South, including sustained efforts to secure employment opportunities for residents.

Mr Ahiafor also extended Christmas greetings from the President to party executives and traditional leaders and urged them to continue supporting government programmes aimed at improving the lives of Ghanaians.

Speaking on at the event, Torgbui Ladzekpo Tetegefu praised the First Deputy Speaker for his developmental efforts and leadership.

He appealed to Mr Ahiafor to help encourage indigenes of Avenor living in the diaspora to return home and contribute to local development, stressing the importance of harnessing the expertise and resources of natives abroad.

Torgbui Ladzekpo Tetegefu further urged the First Deputy Speaker to facilitate the homecoming of Mr. Raymound Archer, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO),boss who is a native of Avenor, to support development initiatives in the area.
