Mr. Rapheal Ahiable, Assembly Member for the Avenorpedo Electoral Area, has been retained as the Presiding Member for the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly after securing a decisive victory in an election conducted earlier today.
Mr. Ahiable polled 32 votes to defeat his contender, Mr. Amuzu Daniel Kale, Assembly Member for the Atsekpui Electoral Area, who garnered 10 votes.
His victory marks the third consecutive time he has been elected to serve as Presiding Member, underscoring the sustained confidence Assembly Members have in his leadership, experience, and commitment to the effective functioning of the Assembly.
The Presiding Member plays a critical role in chairing Assembly meetings, guiding deliberations, and ensuring the smooth conduct of legislative business to promote local governance and development.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Ahiable expressed profound gratitude to members of the Assembly for the continued trust and confidence reposed in him.
