Agyapadie book: NPP vowed to use Airbus scandal to destroy Mahama

Prior to the Special Prosecutor’s judgment, the avowed and unrepentant owners of the famous ‘Agyapadie’ book reiterated that Ghanaians were buying into the corruption tag on former President Mahama, hence the need to use the Airbus scandal to destroy his reputation.

Glancing through the book, one can conclude if in executing the state capture, the initiative of petitioning the Office of the Special Prosecutor was preconceived. It is worth stating that, president Nana Akufo-Addo on February 2rd 2020, announced he referred the judgment of the United Kingdom (UK) Crown court at Southwark on the Airbus scandal to the Special Prosecutor.

A statement at the time signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin, noted that in the judgment, between 2009 and 2015 “a number of Airbus employees made or promised success-based commission payments of approximately €5 million to Intermediary 5”, who is said to be “a close relative of a high ranking elected Ghanaian government official (Government Official 1)”.

However, on the ‘Agyapadie’ book page 33 is found the expression of using the Airbus scandal to indict the NDC’s presidential candidate.

The very Portion read:

“the 2020 elections will not be easy for us with current happenings, we need to sit up. Why are we so quiet on the Airbus scandal, Yes we know we haven’t found enough to indict Mahama but a lot of Ghanaians were buying into our approach, why have we stopped! It is time to go back to the drawing board. We must make sure we use the court system to help us damage the NDC beyond repair. Let us start prosecuting people. That is why we put our people there. Otherwise we have a problem”.
