The High Court in Accra has scheduled July 18, 2025, for the trial of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, and three others accused of misappropriating GH₵49.1 million meant for cybersecurity defence software.

The court fixed the date after rejecting a request from the accused to disclose national security financial records dating as far back as 1992. According to the judge, the prosecution had completed its disclosures and concluded the Case Management Conference, clearing the way for the trial to begin.

The ruling drew sharp criticism from defence counsel Samuel Atta-Akyea, who described the decision as an “aberration of justice.” He alleged the judge suppressed crucial evidence and accused the Attorney General of influencing the court’s conduct.

Atta-Akyea also pointed out procedural inconsistencies. He claimed the court initially announced it would deliver a full ruling on July 21 but instead issued a brief summary on July 3, allegedly under pressure from the Attorney General.
