Adaklu Traditional Council building commissioned

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has joined officials of government and traditional authorities to officially hand over the completed Adaklu Traditional Council building to the people of Adaklu.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, his Deputy, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, and the Minister for Roads and Highways as well as Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Kwame Governs Agbodza. Also present was the Paramount Chief of Adaklu, Togbega Gbogbi Atsa V, alongside chiefs and opinion leaders from the area.

Speaking at the event, Hon. James Gunu noted that Adaklu remains one of the most peaceful districts in the Volta Region, stressing that the completion of the Traditional Council building underscores government’s recognition of the critical role of chieftaincy in local governance and development.

According to him, the facility represents unity, inclusiveness and the authority of traditional institutions, and will serve as a hub for effective traditional administration and dispute resolution in the district.

Hon. Gunu further reaffirmed government’s readiness to deepen collaboration with traditional authorities to accelerate development at the grassroots level, adding that strong partnerships between the state and chieftaincy institutions are essential for sustainable peace and progress.

The Adaklu Traditional Council building is expected to enhance the work of traditional leaders and contribute to improved coordination between customary authorities and local government structures.
