A five-day training workshop on the Updated Financial Manual of NHIA opens in Ho

A five day training workshop for staff of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in the Volta and Oti regions Monday opened in Ho.

The workshop which focusses on the Updated Financial Manual of the Authority is a significant step in building the capacity of staff of the Authority.

It is also aimed at enhancing their financial accountability and promoting operational efficiency across the Authority.

Madam Susan Chobbah, Volta Regional Director of the NHIA, in her welcoming address, stated that the NHIA remained committed to sustaining the positive trajectory and even exceeding its current achievements.

She said this would be done by strengthening stakeholders’ collaboration, intensifying public education, and leveraging technology to enhance service delivery.

The Director noted that she was confident that the Authority in the Region would continue to be a shining example of excellence within the NHIA family.

She intimated that over the past years the Volta region has consistently demonstrated strong performance in the National Health Insurance Scheme for membership registration and renewals.

She praised staff of the Authority in the region for their ability to expand coverage to communities, particularly the hard-to-reach areas.

“This success is a clear indication of our staff’s dedication, teamwork and our deep commitment to ensuring that every resident has access to quality healthcare through the National Health Insurance Scheme,” the Director stated.

She hoped the training would equip participants with the requisite knowledge to manage public funds prudently.

“I hope this training will strengthen our capacities to ensure that every Cedi entrusted to us serves the purpose for which it is intended,” Madam Chobbah said.

She commended the Management of the Authority for approval of the organization of the workshop.

Madam Chobbah said the knowledge acquired would help the participants ensure greater transparency and efficiency in the use of public funds.

She urged the participants to make good use of the opportunity to improve their knowledge of financial documentation.

Madam Chobbah hoped that the leadership and vision of management of the Authority would inspire them to strive for excellence.

Present was Mr. Christopher Galenkui, Volta Regional Public Relations Officer of the NHIA.
