Hohoe (V/R), Aug. 5, GNA – The 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has begun in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta Region.
The examination would be written at HEPSS, St Agatha, Alavanyo Sec. Tech, Afadzato Sec. Tech, and the Santa Esther Girls SHS centres in the Municipality.
A visit to the Hohoe E.P Senior High School (HEPSS) centre by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) saw students of the Visual Arts beginning the examination with their practicals.
A total of 127 made up 84 male students and 43 female students were sitting for the examination.
However, the total number of registered students of the School writing the exams is 986.
Professor Ernest Kofi Davies, the Acting Director General of the Ghana Education Service, said a total of 461,640 final-year Senior High School students across the country would sit for the examination.
He said the nationwide exercise included 207,381 males and 254,259 females, marking a slight increase of 1,029 candidates over last year’s total of 460,611.
