A life threatening accident on the Winneba–Mankessim stretch of the N1 Highway in Gomoa Amenfi has left twelve people critically injured. The collision involved a Toyota Voxy, a Nissan Altima, and a Hyundai Elantra.
Preliminary accounts suggest the crash occurred when the Toyota Voxy (GN 9883-25) attempted an unsafe overtaking manoeuvre, colliding head-on with a Nissan Altima (GW 1895-09). Moments later, a Hyundai Elantra (GR 1972-15) crashed into the rear of the Toyota Voxy, compounding the severity of the accident.
The driver and all seven passengers in the Toyota Voxy suffered life-threatening injuries, while four occupants of the Nissan Altima sustained varying degrees of trauma.
Emergency responders from the Ghana National Fire Service in Apam acted swiftly, transporting all twelve victims to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, where they are receiving urgent medical care.
